Getting Started with Flint AI
Welcome to Flint — the community platform for building, sharing, and discovering custom AI agents. Follow the steps below to get up and running in minutes.
Step 1 — Create Your Account
To get started, log in to your existing account or sign up for free. If you register with an email and password, check your inbox (and spam folder) for a verification email before proceeding.
Once you're logged in and your email is verified, you can activate your Free Trial to receive your Flint Tokens and dive right in. No payment or credit card information is required — your free trial tokens will be available in your account wallet immediately.
Head to your dashboard to set up your username, avatar, bio, and interests. This helps us surface the agents and community creations most relevant to you.
Your Privacy, Your Control
We encourage everyone to share their creations with the Flint community, but you're always in full control of what's public and what isn't. Here's what that means in practice:
- 1.All of your chats are completely private — they are visible only to you, always.
- 2.Only the agents you explicitly set to public will be visible to the community. Everything else stays private by default.
- 3.A private profile hides your username, bio, avatar, and interests from other users. Any agents you've marked as public will still be discoverable — just not linked back to your profile.
For full details, read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Step 2 — Start Using Flint AI
With your Flint Tokens active, you have full access to everything the platform offers:
🤖 Official Flint Agents
Browse and chat with AI agents built by the Flint team, covering a wide range of topics and use cases. Find them in the Agent Discovery tab. To start a chat, click the chat icon on any agent card. You can also try a voice call — just note that voice is currently in Beta.
🌐 Community Creations
This is where Flint really shines. Build your own custom AI chatbots — called Meta Agents — and optionally share them with the community. You can also explore trending or search all public agents created by other users, clone the ones you like, and use them as a starting point for your own. Learn more in the Meta Agents tutorial.

Understanding Flint Tokens
Flint Tokens are the platform's usage currency, consumed each time you send or receive messages or audio with an agent. Think of them like fuel — the more processing a response requires (longer messages, complex context, voice conversion), the more tokens it uses.
As a general rule: longer responses cost more tokens, and voice calls cost more than text chat since they involve speech-to-text and text-to-speech conversion. Since usage varies based on many factors, we recommend experimenting with a few messages to get a feel for your consumption rate. You can always check your remaining balance on your dashboard.
Subscribing to a Plan
Your Free Trial tokens never expire — they stay in your wallet until you use them, and you'll never be charged automatically. When you're ready to keep going after your trial, you can upgrade to a paid plan through your dashboard. Each plan provides a set amount of Flint Tokens per month for a flat monthly fee.
For guidance on upgrading, switching, or cancelling your plan, check out our subscription guide.
